Why it matters: Owned by the relatives of the famous Norwegian composer Edvard Grieg, Opus XVI is a luxurious hotel located in the heart of Bergen. Once a protected bank, the building is a local landmark hosting 65 individually designed rooms, along with a restaurant and bar. Just like the great composer, its chefs draw inspiration from nature, sourcing the ingredients from local farms and the sea. Rich historical legacy flows through the hotel’s opulent architecture. Chandeliers and majestic marble columns make a stunning backdrop for weddings, conferences and family celebrations alike.
