Mews, a leader in property management systems, today announces ambitious growth plans for product innovation, dedicated to enabling the largest hospitality enterprises in the world to create remarkable guest experiences. The company is committing to a global hiring plan that will see the business increase headcount by over 90% in the coming year across all functions, expanding offices in Prague, London and Amsterdam and opening new offices in the United States and across Europe. The company is also announcing that Salesforce Ventures, the global investment arm of Salesforce, has made a strategic investment in Mews.

“As we engage with the leading regional and global groups in hospitality, it’s clear that they share our vision for more open, flexible, cloud-based solutions in hospitality that enable continuous innovation,” said Matthijs Welle, CEO of Mews. “We’re firmly committed to delivering the most robust cloud platform for enterprise brands and we’re backing up this commitment by reinvesting millions of euros in our people, and as a result our product capabilities.”

Mews’ expansion plans include the addition of approximately 100+ roles in product and engineering over the next 12 months, directly as well as through an ambitions acquisition strategy in 2022. The focus for the team is centred on enabling brands to deliver guest experiences that drive increased loyalty and lifetime value.

The growth is underpinned and backed by a strategic investment made by Salesforce Ventures who have noted Mews’ enterprise readiness. Nowi Kallen, Principal at Salesforce Ventures commented, “We’re extremely optimistic when it comes to hospitality technology. Times of adversity are often the greatest moments of transformation and opportunity. Mews has been at the forefront of cloud innovation in the industry, and we’re very excited about the role they’re playing as enterprise hospitality brands shift more of their property and guest-facing technology into the cloud.”

Richard Valtr, Founder of Mews, said, “Mews stands alone in our industry by putting the guest at the center of our system, rather than the traditional approach which is to build a property system based on rooms. We believe this drives a sea change in the way that our customers can deliver guest experiences. We’re therefore extremely excited to be partnering with Salesforce, the company which not only invented the cloud revolution but has always made customer experience central to business outcomes. We believe this partnership represents a new era in hospitality systems and will contribute to an entirely new standard.”

In their 2021 Hotel Tech Benchmark, Skift Research reported that vendors of Property Management Systems have combined annual revenues of $4.5 billion, making it the largest hotel tech category. They also reported that Mews has now reached the top 10 third-party Property Management Systems in terms of market share.
