HotelTime Solutions and CZECH INN HOTELS extend their cooperation to Austria

Czech company HotelTime Solutions has launched its first Austrian implementation. Since the middle of October, the 247-room Grand Hotel Palace Schönbrunn in Vienna, whose acquisition the CZECH INN HOTELS group announced in August this year, has been using HotelTime PMS and the Vento POS restaurant system. The project builds on more than twenty years of partnership between the two companies and on the support HotelTime provides to the group, including during its international expansion.

The Vienna project has extended a cooperation that, before this deployment, covered 23 hotels with approximately 3,500 rooms and 46 F&B point-of-sale terminals. In addition to 21 hotels in the Czech Republic, the group’s hotels in Riga and Georgia also use HotelTime solutions. Following the Vienna go-live, a total of 24 of the group’s hotels with approximately 3,700 rooms use HotelTime solutions.

“What matters to us is that we can support our chain clients in their international expansion. We have been working with CZECH INN HOTELS for more than twenty years, and together we have come all the way from a small mountain hotel to large city properties. The Vienna project is a significant milestone and a natural continuation of this partnership,” says Jan Hejný, CEO and founder of HotelTime Solutions.

A large city hotel next to Schönbrunn

The five-star Grand Hotel Palace Schönbrunn, formerly DoubleTree by Hilton Vienna Schönbrunn, is located approximately 500 metres from Schönbrunn Palace. It offers 247 rooms, including 21 suites, and accommodation for more than 500 guests. Eight conference rooms with a total area of almost 1,000 m² are complemented by the Sissy & Joe restaurant, a lobby bar, and a wellness and fitness centre. This makes it a large operation serving both leisure and corporate guests.

The deployed solution connects HotelTime PMS and Vento POS with the SiteMinder distribution platform, the Adyen payment solution and the group’s internal reporting and data analytics system.

A month of preparation and cooperation between both teams

The two teams had only one month for the implementation. HotelTime’s development, IT, onboarding and customer support teams were involved in the project. Preparation also included connecting to the local fiscalisation solution and importing reservation data, which freed up the hotel team’s capacity for other tasks related to the takeover.

Staff training was provided by CZECH INN HOTELS’ own team, which knows the group’s processes, standards and systems. HotelTime’s support included three days of on-site assistance during the final preparation and the first live operations. The project thus builds on both teams’ experience from previous joint implementations.

“In Vienna, too, we will use the services of the Czech hotel system HotelTime. We didn’t have to ‘reinvent the wheel’ – the system works great in many of our hotels, and historically we are one of its first users. In general, our strategy is cooperation between Czech businesses – we are a purely Czech company,” says Jaroslav Svoboda, founder and owner of the CZECH INN HOTELS group.

A partnership that shaped the system’s development

The cooperation dates back to 2004, when Jan Hejný came to the Bellevue Hotel in Harrachov to present the reservation system of the time to Jaroslav Svoboda. Besides practical knowledge of hotel operations, the meeting brought an experienced manager’s feedback on how software should support the management of larger hotels. This input was reflected in further joint development. Implementations at the large Prague hotels Grand Hotel International and Grand Hotel Prague Towers followed later.
