What do you like most?
GearCo is complete, as if a room of hotel owners got together to design a system for themselves. As a standalone tool at the front desk, it offers more features than any other system of its type that I've used. GearCo stands as a champion against Wyndham and Choice's internal systems, not that they don't have their high points and successful features. GearCo just performs better with a larger feature set than most franchisors offer their own hotels. GearCo markets to the extended stay, however it works exceptionally well at a standalone nightly hotel. Every independently owned hotel or extended stay should study GearCo as an option. Its reporting mechanisms are top notch, channel manager integration, tax reporting and general ease of use are terrific features. As a GM, it is very nice to have remote access to every feature. The comprehensive ID retention and DNR functions are an absolute must for 2-star properties, especially. I have found GearCo's support to be quite solid. GearCo is also easy to teach, you can have a new front desk agent up and running quite fast. As a subscription model SAS system, I have found GearCo's technical reliablity to be rock solid. As a GM, I am thoroughly satisfied my company uses GearCo.
What do you dislike or think could be improved?
While the video library for training is very good, I'd like to see a bit more comprehensive, granular coverage of all the GearCo features available for complete training of every staff level. This is a minor issue, it doesn't stop GearCo from being great.
