Celebrating Creativity and Upsell Excellence: The Oaky Awards 2024’s Winners and Finalists Revealed

The Oaky Awards made a grand comeback in 2024 and received a record number of submissions for its Most Creative Upselling deal category.

Oaky, an award-winning hotel upselling software solution, announced today the winners of the Oaky Awards 2024. The Oaky Awards 2024 recognise the creativity, resourcefulness, and financial success of Oaky customers that leverage the Oaky upselling tool suite. 

The awards aim to inspire hotels around the globe to be creative in upselling to meet guests' preferences for experiences beyond just rooms. They also underscore the connection between happy guests and revenue success, recognising the financial accomplishments of Oaky customers. 

This year's awards acknowledge winners and finalists in four exciting categories — Most Creative Upselling Deal, Best Oaky Performer, Best Front Desk Upseller, and Oaky Ambassadors.

The Most Creative Upselling deal category highlights hotels that delight their guests with unusual experiences. This year’s winner, Bali Niksoma Boutique Beach Resort, part of PMG Hotels and Resorts group, clinched the title of the Most Creative Upselling deal with their out-of-the-box deal “Hotel Tattoo Service”, inviting guests to get a memorable tattoo by a professional tattoo artist in the comfort of their room. 

The Oaky Committee also acknowledged four finalists who went above and beyond to create memorable guest experiences with their innovative ideas. These are: Anantara Golden Triangle, Royal Cliff Beach Hotel, Avani Sepang Goldcoast, and Pullman Dresden Newa. 

In addition to creativity, the awards also recognised performance in two distinct categories. Shangri-La The Shard, London won the Oaky Best Performer Award, a category that recognises hotels boasting the highest revenue per room result. Pillows Grand Boutique Hotel Reylof was announced as the Oaky Best Front Desk Upseller, an award spotlighting hotels that demonstrated exceptional revenue growth through Oaky’s Front Desk Upsell automation.   

This year, Oaky also introduced a new category — Oaky Ambassador. In no particular order, this category acknowledges Oaky champions that demonstrated exceptional dedication, innovation, and success in implementing and promoting upselling strategies using Oaky’s software: 

  • Alexis Remy, VP of Revenue Management and Distribution of Hard Rock Hotels

  • Onyx, Pierre Langelotti, Director of E-Commerce, CRM, Loyalty & Partnerships at ONYX Hospitality Group

  • Karen Wong, Assistant VP, of Revenue Optimisation of the Shangri-La Group

  • Ronja McMullen, Assistant Director of Revenue Management at Elite Hotels of Sweden

  • Leona McGarry, Group Systems, Training & Standards Manager of the Dalata Hotel Group.
