ROOMDEX Announces New ABS Revenue Performance Results
The results are in-- ABS works!
ROOMDEX, the provider for ABS (Attribute-based Selling) in upselling for hotels, today has announced new, record-breaking performance results from across all hotels using ABS for Upselling.
-
Across the portfolio of ROOMDEX customers, moving to ABS has resulted in an average 19% increase in month-over-month upsell revenue.
-
45% of guests who buy through ABS are purchasing 2 or more features, showing that the pricing and UI innovations are encouraging guests to customize their stay.
-
30% of revenue is being generated from within the same room type as was originally booked, meaning that guests are paying more to guarantee key room features such as a high floor location.
ROOMDEX ABS for Upselling revolutionizes hotel inventory merchandizing by automatically pricing and selling individual room features to drive increased upselling cart value and transaction conversion.
“As we move our portfolio hotels over to ABS, we have been very impressed by the immediate and enduring pop in upselling revenue,” said Brandon Standerfer, Corporate Director, Distribution at Springboard Hospitality. “We are particularly happy with the improvement in conversion and number of upsell transaction as it is a clear indicator that guests are enjoying the opportunity to fine-tune their stay to their personal preferences.”
Through ABS for Upselling, guests are paying, on average:
-
$27 per night for a specific view
-
$50 per night for a renovated room
-
$12 per night for a high floor
- $23 per night for a balcony
“I think the lesson from the ABS results we are enjoying is that operators who stay on top of hotel technology innovations will be rewarded,” said Marco Burlimann, Senior Vice President of Operations and Assets at Modus by PM Hotel Group. “We have been able to sell what are effectively new room products, such as hardwood floors, and generated new revenue that simply was not possible before.”
