ROOMDEX Releases ABS (Attribute-Based Selling)
Hotel Upselling Technology Leader Pilots ABS Upselling with Hotels Worldwide
ROOMDEX, the leading innovator in upselling solutions for hotels, today announced the release of ROOMDEX ABS. The product revolutionizes hotel inventory merchandizing by automatically pricing and selling individual room features to drive increased upselling cart value and transaction conversion.
By effectively unbundling traditional room types in the upselling process, ROOMDEX ABS highlights the value of the hotel product in a way that reflects the intention of the hotel’s designer – and the language of the hotel’s consumers.
“Over the past 20 years, the Internet buying experience has conditioned the travel consumer to focus on the prices of opaquely named room types,” said Jos Schaap, CEO & Co-Founder of ROOMDEX. “ROOMDEX ABS refocuses guests onto the features they love, first and foremost. ABS reframes the hotel experience in terms of personalization.”
The break-through innovation of ABS is the automated attribute pricing algorithm. Current ROOMDEX upselling already leverages a hotel’s revenue management efforts when determining upsell offer prices. ROOMDEX ABS takes it a step further and calculates individual attribute prices automatically. The result is that hotels can deploy ROOMDEX ABS with very little effort.
“The new ABS pricing algorithm works seamlessly with our True AvailabilityTM algorithm and a new, easy-to-use shopping interface,” continued Jos. “ABS presents a new way of thinking about and building a hotel stay, while still working with a hotel’s existing operations and revenue management.”
ROOMDEX is currently piloting ABS upselling in 5 brand and independent hotels across the U.S. and Europe.
