What do you like most?
Managing a large, diverse portfolio of mid-scale and upscale commercial hotels across the UK requires high-level oversight and strict internal operational controls. Transitioning a cluster of our properties to HotelFriend has massively streamlined our high-volume distribution. The master channel manager handles inventory pushes across hundreds of corporate channels and OTAs in near real-time, completely wiping out our previous issues with fragmented bookings. From an administrative standpoint, the platform’s native automated billing and GDPR-compliant guest accounting data workflows are fantastic. It handles the nuances of UK corporate VAT accounting effortlessly, and the automated payment request features have helped our property finance teams significantly reduce late or failed card collections. The visual calendar interface is so simple that our on-property rooms division teams require minimal onboarding time.
What do you dislike or think could be improved?
Because we operate a complex corporate infrastructure with centralized legacy revenue management and custom business intelligence (BI) data warehouses, we’ve found the platform's standard open API setup a bit restrictive. Building deep, tailored integrations into proprietary data tech stacks or highly specific legacy EPOS systems requires quite a bit of custom development. While it works flawlessly as an all-in-one standalone hub, it could offer more out-of-the-box flexibility for enterprise-level IT architects who need to plug into highly customized corporate systems.
