What do you like most?
As a Director of People and Culture, my priority is the user experience for our employees. HotelFriend excels here because its interface is remarkably intuitive. In an industry with high turnover, the "time-to-productivity" for new hires is a critical KPI for me. The software’s clean design allows new team members to feel confident within hours rather than days, which significantly reduces "new job anxiety." Furthermore, the automation of repetitive manual tasks like housekeeping updates and guest messaging has a direct impact on our culture. It removes the "drudge work" that leads to burnout, allowing our staff to engage in more meaningful, high touch hospitality. The transparent communication between departments also reduces workplace friction; when everyone has the same real-time data, there are fewer misunderstandings and a much stronger sense of team cohesion.
What do you dislike or think could be improved?
From a HR and organizational development standpoint, I would love to see an integrated Employee Performance or "Staff Recognition" module. Having the ability to link guest satisfaction scores or completed tasks directly to employee profiles within the PMS would allow us to gamify excellence and reward our top performers more objectively. Additionally, expanding the internal communication tools to include more robust "team announcement" features or digital shift-handover notes would further strengthen our internal culture and ensure that no vital information is lost between rotating shifts.
