What do you like most?
I like that Canary seems to understand what a busy day in hospitality actually feels like. When guests are checking in, phones are ringing, and the team is juggling requests, I want tools that make things easier to manage. Canary helps bring some order to the payment process without making the guest experience feel complicated. I especially appreciate the attention to cyber security and fraud prevention. We want our guests to feel comfortable sharing their information, and I want our team to handle it responsibly. The focus on data privacy gives me more confidence in the way we approach those interactions. I also like how the platform supports payment authorizations. It is helpful to have a clearer process to follow, especially when the day gets busy or someone on the team needs to find information quickly. When a chargeback comes up, being able to review the relevant details in an organized way can make a frustrating situation feel less overwhelming. It integrates seamlessly with our PMS as well. A straightforward process helps staff answer questions with confidence. It also gives us more time to pay attention to the person in front of us, which is what hospitality should be about. I like knowing that we can think seriously about security while still making interactions feel warm and easy for guests. I notice the difference most during busy shifts. Clear steps help us resolve payment questions faster and give guests more of our attention. Overall, I appreciate that Canary Technologies addresses real operational needs in a practical way. I would recommend it to other hospitality teams that want a smoother process and a stronger sense of confidence around guest information and payments.
What do you dislike or think could be improved?
Occasionally we need to make changes to some of the settings - we manage multiple hotels and have different needs for each of them. Making changes can be a little tricky to figure out, especially when I want to make changes for one hotel but not the other. Also, as we have multiple teams using the same platform (group sales, leisure sales, reservations, front desk etc), sometimes changes are made by one team that affect the others and I'd like to see if there's a way to not apply those changes globally.
