Online check-in and mobile keys cut front-desk friction — group tools still lag

What do you like most?
Mews runs the day-to-day operations across our serviced apartment properties in Interlaken, Grindelwald and Montreux. The online check-in flow is what we rely on most: guests complete their details and payment before arrival, and since we connected SALTO digital keys through Mews, guests who finish online check-in receive the key on their phone, which removed a lot of front-desk friction for an apartment operator without a 24-hour reception. The open API has also been valuable. We connected our AI voice concierge to Mews for live rates and availability, and the integration was straightforward. Customer support has been a real strength: our Customer Success Manager worked with us hands-on through the digital key rollout rather than just pointing us to documentation.
What do you dislike or think could be improved?
Multi-property operators like us would benefit from stronger group-level tooling. Managing rates, availability and reporting across several properties still means switching between them more than we would like, and a consolidated cross-property view for reservations and revenue would save our reservations team time every day. More flexible automation around the online check-in and key activation sequence, for example holding key release until balance is paid and the unit is inspected without manual steps, would also raise our rating.
