What do you like most?
We are glad that we are no longer with Jonas Chorum. Calling it overpriced would be an serious understatement and since switching, we are getting much more for much less. Imagine being asked to pay a luxury price and receiving a budget product.
What do you dislike or think could be improved?
Non existent customer service. Charging exorbitant fees of thousands of US dollars every year to add OTA connectivity. The PMS also costs thousands of US dollars every year. Forcing customers to implement payment processors of their choosing. I respectfully advise that you ask for yourself how much their PMS costs, what interfaces they include and/or do not include, and about their payment processing requirements. Jonas Chorum forced our property to implement a payment processor of their choosing in the middle of an annual renewal. This meant that unless we, and I was informed, all other Jonas Chorum properties, paid them and/or their preferred third party to process payments, we would no longer be able to view payment details on their Jonas Chorum PMS. The signup and equipment cost was significant and also required a significant signup cost from their chosen payment processor. There was also an large additional annual fee for Jonas Chorum and of course the additional expense from every single debit/credit transaction. This was presented under an explanation of necessary security and although I do not doubt that is how Jonas Chorum chose to set up their system, speaking from 1st hand hotelier experience, I know there are many legitimate Property Management Systems, including at least one major global operation, that does not require that payments be processed in a manner that includes themselves as beneficiaries. Essentially, you will have to get rid of your current payment processor, join their preferred payment processor, pay Jonas Chorum an annual fee for connectivity to this payment processor, in addition to their existing annual fees for basic services and any interfaces, and pay their payment processor device rental and processing fees as long as you use Jonas Chorum. Oh, and you may have to pay for Jonas Chorum to ship and sell you regular computers to run their PMS that can be bought anywhere. Ever hear of Microsoft Silverlight? Ask Jonas Chorum why they finally stopped using it in 2022, years after it had stopped being available on the internet and how this made it virtually impossible to get Jonas Chorum onto any new computers that you wanted which makes no sense for a cloud based PMS. Ask around! After switching property management systems, they refused to return money for unimplemented services and demand 1 year as termination penalty although there is absolutely no penalty for termination (with or without notice) specified in the contract!
