Nordic Choice Hotels Selects Zaplox as a Partner for Mobile Keys
The agreement includes Zaplox SDK, which will form an integral part of the digital guest journey for the chain's more than 220 hotels.
Zaplox AB (publ) ("Zaplox") signs an agreement with hotel chain Nordic Choice Hotels for the delivery of mobile keys. The agreement includes Zaplox SDK, which will form an integral part of the digital guest journey for the chain's more than 220 hotels. By the end of the third quarter of 2023, Zaplox mobile keys will be available at about 100 hotels with approximately 23,000 rooms. The partnership strengthens Nordic Choice Hotels' digital guest journey and enables the development of the next generation of mobile keys.
With more than 220 hotels and 41,500 rooms in 5 countries, Nordic Choice Hotels is one of the largest hotel chains in the Nordics. The chain has been an industry-leader in adopting new technology, and mobile keys were introduced at 50 of its hotels already back in 2018. After the pandemic, there’s been a growing need to continue the development of mobile keys. Equally, it’s become a top priority to introduce the service at additional hotels as guest demands have evolved.
Zaplox has years of experience in developing digital solutions that bring value to both guests and hotels. The new agreement with Nordic Choice Hotels includes the Zaplox Key Centric SDK, which is now being integrated into the chain's mobile app. The collaboration allows Nordic Choice Hotels to take new digital steps without increased resource allocation while also enabling the chain to remain at the forefront of adopting new technology.
"We are very proud that Nordic Choice Hotels chose us as their partner in their continued journey as a digital innovator in the travel industry. Since Zaplox was founded in 2010, we have supported hotels in their ambition to offer their guests the best possible experience and Nordic Choice Hotels' ambition is to be "best in class at hotel experiences." We look forward to creating new digital opportunities through close collaboration and elevating their guest journey further. All to offer the hotel guests an exceptional experience - today and tomorrow," says Tess Mattisson, President & CEO of Zaplox.
"For Nordic Choice Hotels, the digital guest experience has long been a priority. To remain relevant to our guests in the future, we need to make the guest experience even more seamless and digital. Zaplox is an essential piece of the puzzle in that work, and we are pleased to be able to start the implementation at the beginning of next year," says Christian Lundén, VP of Strategic Growth at Berry by Nordic Choice Hotels.
Like Zaplox, Nordic Choice Hotels shares a passion for developing solutions that support the current and future needs of modern hotel guests. This is reflected in the joint plan to go live with the new solution already in the first quarter of 2023.
The roll-out of mobile keys will take place in three stages; the first to go live is the approx. 50 hotels that already today use mobile keys. The service is then introduced at an additional 50 hotels with compatible hotel locks and then gradually rolled out at the remaining hotels in the chain.
"The jointly set plan is for us to be live with at least 100 hotels before the end of Q3 2023. The digital maturity of Nordic Choice Hotels and the fact that 50 of the hotels already use mobile keys make it possible for us to carry out a rapid implementation together," concludes Tess.
