What do you like most?
The AI voice agent handles upsells excellently — we built a full Dynamic Upsells SOP around it as the flagship deployment at one of our properties, and it's captured revenue that used to get missed entirely on front-desk phone calls when staff were busy checking guests in or handling other requests. Response quality is strong and natural — guests interact with it comfortably rather than feeling like they're talking to a scripted bot, which matters a lot for guest experience scores. Implementation was also more flexible than we expected going in: we handled number porting, PBX/carrier configuration, and call routing ourselves without major friction, which gave us confidence we could roll this out to additional properties in our portfolio. Support was responsive whenever we ran into a configuration question. It's genuinely one of the few AI tools we've deployed that's paid for itself operationally, not just something nice to have on paper.
What do you dislike or think could be improved?
Initial setup — especially number porting and PBX/carrier configuration — took more manual coordination than we expected going in, and required us to work through several carrier-side issues largely on our own before everything was fully routed and tested correctly. There wasn't always a clear, step-by-step path for that specific phase, so a more guided setup flow or more detailed documentation covering common carrier configurations would make a real difference — especially for a multi-property portfolio like ours, where we're looking to roll this out to additional locations and want that process to be faster and more predictable each time. It would also help to have a clearer checklist for what to prepare and coordinate with the carrier ahead of the actual porting date, since a lot of the friction came from not knowing exactly what to expect until we were already in the middle of it. A pre-porting readiness checklist — covering things like which carrier details to gather in advance, realistic timelines, and who owns each step internally versus on Canary's side — would remove a lot of the guesswork for the next property we bring online. One additional suggestion would be a dedicated onboarding contact for multi-property portfolios specifically, since coordinating configuration across several locations at once adds complexity that a single-property rollout guide doesn't fully account for. Having one point person who understands the full portfolio context, rather than starting fresh with each property's setup, would meaningfully speed up future rollouts and reduce the number of times we have to re-explain our environment. Once that initial hurdle was cleared, though, day-to-day operation and support responsiveness were both smooth and reliable, and the product itself has performed well. The improvement opportunity here is really concentrated in that first-time setup experience, not in how the product runs once it's live.
