What do you like most?
I like the user journey for the booking engine. Our website booking conversion has increased exponentially year on year and the personalized offers tool has also increased our direct reservations. From a setup and maintenance perspective, I like the way that elements from the booking engine setup (Suite) integrates directly with the website. We don't have to maintain two sets of content for room types and room amenities. The group rate plan setup feature also allows us to simply create and maintain rate plans across our chain of properties. This time-saver has been a game-changer for our Revenue Management Team.
What do you dislike or think could be improved?
I think the channel manager could integrate with more local OTAs in South Africa. We have recently integrated with Travel ground and it's been great, but I'd like this extended to others like SafariNow, Afristay etc. It would also be great if there was a direct integration with the GDS. I'm looking forward to the new booking engine and enhanced extra service screens. I think this will be taking personalization to a new level. The self-mapping feature for channels also needs improvement. There also needs to be some development on experience vouchers where rates are for a specific date range. Currently, we have to setup a voucher for each date range to accommodate the correct price and it would make more sense if this was contained in one voucher setup. It would also be great to apply discounts to extra services dependent on time of booking, within the same extra setup. I'd like to see more customization available on the CRM with dynamic content elements. It would also be great if we could trigger automated emails dependent on extra services purchased. For example, if someone purchases a spa treatment, send an email prior to arrival with the details for the spa and appointment booking process or link to online service booking and be able to customize this to send a notification to the spa to contact the guest to confirm the appointment. This could also be extended to upsell where someone has purchased a specific extra and we would recommend others to go with it. E.g. The guest bought a romantic turndown, send an email to recommend flowers, wine and romantic picnic basket. However, Profitroom are dynamic with their development, so I'm sure it won't be long and it will be available.
