What do you like most?
What I like most about Canary is the mobile check-in capability. It is easy for our guests to use and allows us to collect all of the information needed for check-in before the guest arrives. This makes the arrival process smoother and more efficient for both our guests and our front desk team. We are also doing very well with Canary’s upsell capability. It has been a great way to generate additional revenue, and the results we are seeing make the system pay for itself with the upsell feature alone. Overall, Canary has been a valuable tool for improving the guest experience while also creating an additional revenue opportunity for our hotel.
What do you dislike or think could be improved?
One improvement I would like to see is the ability to move a guest from “Ready to Check-In” back to “Pending.” Occasionally, a guest completes the mobile check-in process, but the credit card provided is declined. In these situations, we need the ability to cancel or reset the mobile check-in status so the reservation does not continue to show as ready for check-in. Another improvement would be how the company name field is populated. Currently, the booking channel name can sometimes populate into the company field. We use the company field to capture the guest’s actual company name, or the reason for their visit when they are not traveling for business. Having the booking channel automatically entered there can prevent us from collecting the information we need for our sales and marketing efforts. It would be helpful if Canary allowed the company field to remain blank when a true company name has not been provided, rather than automatically populating it with the booking channel.
