What do you like most?
I like that I am able to easily view how many hours of labor I have scheduled per day/week and that I can easily avoid scheduling overtime. I am able to save shifts whenever scheduling and that makes it easier, since it's just a click to apply a schedule (or even to delete a schedule.). The daily labor check in has also been beneficial to our hotel especially when we are going in to our slower season and need to cut back on labor. Viewing the amount of labor and the "win/loss" is a game changer. Hotel Effectiveness also gives access to input employee availability. It's handy to have access to a digital availability vs. needing to hold on to a paper copy. It's very nice to have digital access within the application where I can easily view it. Lastly, I really appreciate the way employees can view their schedules through Hotel Effectiveness as well. Even though we use a different software for publishing and editing employee schedules, it is nice that the option to invite the team is there. We have also noticed that Hotel Effectiveness does communicate out to our other software with schedule input. Overall, after working through some of the quirks of the software, I do think it is beneficial for our hotel.
What do you dislike or think could be improved?
I wish it worked better with IPS. Scheduling across multiple applications is a little bit of a hassle. My only other complaint is sometimes the data doesn't match our actual hotel data (mostly on the housekeeping side for projected hours). I would like if there was an option for colors on the schedule as well. I would also like to see an option to publish schedules for departments separately vs. posting schedules all at once. Two separate options for publishing could be beneficial since there are typically two separate department heads. Lastly for scheduling, I think it could also be nice to have an option where we can import schedules from other hotel software or that we could find an option for an "auto-import" feature to take out a little bit of busy work.
