I have used freetobook for more than 8 years. Friendly, helpful and knowledgeable staff. Always happy to help. Easy to deal with, no foreign call centres. They do what they promise to do. Offer value for money. They are approachable and listen to feedback given by their customers. They act on the feedback too.

I wish they offered a pay monthly plan, it would spread the cost over a whole year. Other than that nothing.

What do you dislike or think could be improved?
I have found the support when linking to google rentals has not been as helpful as when dealing with other problems. It would be useful to have packages rather than sign up to everything independently. The Expedia payments are confusing it would be easier to reconcile if you just credited the amounts and debited F2B payments. It would also be helpful if booking.com payments showed as paid if this is possible and if you could add things like dog stays to channel managed bookings. The messaging is great, but it would be useful if you could send different messages to channel managed bookings. Also it would be useful if you had an App we could share with staff to show when cleans are needed.

Difficult to suggest. In fact I had a few requests that I could not put to work the way I wanted. Simply to find next that it was features on pricing, promotions and rules that have to with the way OTAs work. It was lack of flexibility of Freetobook that caused these issues, rather it was a result of OTAs rules and policies.

When you have a query, a phone call to the Freetobook staff in Glasgow will quickly, on most occasions, resolve any issues. Phone calls are answered promptly by friendly staff, and messages sent to the help centre are also responded to asap. I have had two holiday cottages registered with the site, and they treat my novice enquiries with great professionalism and don't make me feel that my queries are insignificant. It is also great to speak to a 'real' person rather than a chatbot or a call centre provider from overseas (which is highly frustrating when you are a novice as I have experienced with Airbnb and Booking.com). Freetobook regularly do video seminars to explain the services they provide, and these are easy to follow and I can always refer to them when necessary. I really find the booking page user friendly and easy to manage. The messaging system with guests is super easy to manage and the scheduled messages are a godsend.
What do you dislike or think could be improved?
The only issue that I had with freetobook was when I was in the process of selling one of my holiday cottages the buyer was able to sign up to the site before she owned the property. I don't know why it wasn't flagged that the property was already registered and owned by me. Fortunately it was a legitimate and straightforward transaction, and the holiday cottage passed to the new owner without any issue. However, it did make me question whether this could be open to an unscrupulous operator trying to fake an account.

It's very user friendly, has a fantastic community but also the staff were truly exceptional when we first started. Genuinely cannot recommend them enough! I also like how I can put my business first, vs using the likes of the OTAs. FTB always have your business and customers enjoyment at the forefront!
What do you dislike or think could be improved?
It would be handy to have a little diary section (separate to the events) so I can keep a track of my personal life too! But not exactly a deal breaker and not essential whatsoever!

We have been with Freetobook for 13 seasons now, and are very happy to use them. The staff are always friendly and easy to get hold of, either by phone or email/message. Refreshing considering the approach of their competitors. The booking system itself is easy to use, integrates excellently with the OTAs and we have never had a double booking or problem with it. Highly recommended.

Nothing, bar the name. I say this as a 5 star property, and I wonder sometimes if it’s not the type of name ‘some’ of our guests want or expect to see as the meaning could be lost on guests.

I selected FTB after extensive research into a booking system for our then 20 bed hotel, and have been with Freetobook for about 12 years now. Their system does everything you need, and their response times to requests for assistance is impressive. The simplicity is the key, but it does everything without having unnecessary (expensive) bells and whistles that would never get used. What is also impressive is the way they have added functionality every year in line with customers needs.
What do you dislike or think could be improved?
I have made many suggestions over the years, and the vast majority of them have been taken on board, showing a genuine interest to grow with their customers, and develop their systems accordingly.
One thing that still remains to be done is the ability to amend group bookings rates, dates etc without having to edit them room by room.
