**Rating: 0 star** ( if i could give a -10, I would. Worst experience i ever had! Our experience with ChargeAutomation has been an absolute nightmare. Despite not using any of their services for an entire year, we were forced into a non-refundable contract. We subscribed based on misleading claims that ChargeAutomation could easily integrate with PayPal Business. However, we later discovered that additional, undisclosed steps were required. This bait-and-switch tactic cost us valuable time and money. The layers of coordination—starting from Hostaway to ChargeAutomation, then to Cybersource, GlobalPay, and Paynamics—added nothing but financial burden. This tangled mess has been incredibly frustrating and costly, with no benefit to our business whatsoever. The customer service is abysmal. Ian from ChargeAutomation not only refused our refund request but also fought with us when we tried to discuss our concerns. He even made a fuss about the negative review we left, showing a complete lack of professionalism and disregard for customer satisfaction. This company is nothing short of a scam. Avoid ChargeAutomation at all costs if you value your time, money, and sanity.

We have been using ChargeAutomation software for our vacation rentals when guests book on OTAs platforms. This software has been a great tool for the hosts in running the business. The features of pre check-in requirements help process everything. From bookings, reservation deposits, collecting payments from the guests that securely collect data security, uploading primary documents that are used to validate the guests' identity to payment automation that works well. The payment to collect link from ChargeAutomation is helpful to remind the guest through emails and collect full or partial payments. When there's an issue of charging the guest for their payment using the card they've added, it makes you aware of the issue especially when it notifies you that their card has been declined. With this, you have to inform the guest through emails or channel messaging and let them make the necessary verification of the card they have added. To share our experience, we had one guest who attempted to make payments multiple times but the card was always declined. We tried to charge the guest on our end using the card she added but the same issue we had encountered. So, we emailed the guest and informed her to verify her card details or she may call her credit card company. Everything went well after a thorough verification. The activity log is also helpful as a host to make us aware of the activity performed throughout the payment processing. Creating upsell services is easy to manage to send requests to the guest and we would love to create additional upsells that are in there. We also love how everything syncs in real-time especially how Booking Automation and ChargeAutomation work together. The processes and automation really save time for us as a customer and we look forward to more years of utilizing this service. We would definitely recommend this software to the other hosts!

We use Charge Automation to collect security deposits, rental agreements, and some payments from guests when they book on various platforms. We also use it to offer upsells and give check-in info once a guest has completed their pre check in form. It's very nice to have a unified and automated system to handle this and allow guests to self service. After they complete their info they have access to our guidebook and keycode as well.In addition I would like to mention that ChargeAutomation support is pretty great. While the software is still maturing, the support team is quick to address issues and get fixes in from their dev team.
What do you dislike or think could be improved?
We've been using Charge Automation for over a year now, and they are continuing to improve. I will say that some aspects of the software are a bit clunky or certain things require more effort that would be ideal. Things I'd love to see improved: - Trying to find all the reservations that have not completed their pre check in form is basically not possible. We keep track of this elsewhere and then look up reservations in Charge Automation. - While they allow overrides on a per property basis, about half of our listings are require specific settings that would be nice to do once for all of them rather than adjusting on each each and every listing.
