Sandpiper Hospitality, led by industry veteran Jim Darter, announced they have chosen Impulsify as their exclusive partner in the grab-and-go retail space - committing several high-profile hotel development projects to kick off the partnership. “Sandpiper Hospitality has chosen to align on an exclusive basis with Impulsify, a company that is changing the game in grab-n-go markets in hotels and beyond.  We look forward to a mutually beneficial relationship that will allow our hotels to meet the need of our owners and guests in a creative, efficient and curated way,” says Jim Darter, President of Sandpiper Hospitality. The new partnership will launch a custom designed self-service grab-and-go market for the first Wyndham dual brand offering. The La Quinta / Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham in Pflugerville, TX will offer two brands under one roof sharing one highly customized lobby retail outlet, designed by Impulsify, to meet the needs of both short- and long- term guests. In addition, Impulsify’s guest-facing POS is fully integrated with the Opera PMS system for Room Charge capability at both brands. Also included within this joint venture is a new extended stay brand initiative. Sandpiper Hospitality tapped Impulsify to design and develop the full retail program offering for their new conversion-based brand - which will include limited grocery, warm breakfast, and self-service checkout for guests on the go. “Jim just gets it - 100%.” says Impulsify CEO, Janine Williams. “While some owners and management companies are seeking waivers and scaling back grab-and-go inventory and operations, Sandpiper Hospitality looked at the immediate ROI retail offers as well as guest demand for curated, packaged F&B and made the decision to do it right on both design and technology. It really has to look and feel a certain way or they’re going to send all your F&B revenue to GrubHub.” Impulsify uses proprietary retail performance data from over 15 million hotel retail transactions rung into their POS solutions to recommend product mixes based on type of hotel, guest profiles, geolocation, best sellers and emerging trends. Product performance data from 2021 indicates that healthy options, higher quality indulgent items, and larger portion sizes were the clear expectations of today’s guests.  Before COVID-19, Impulsify primarily sold their front desk POS solution, ImpulsePoint, to automate transactions and inventory - with only 20% opting for their self-service kiosk. However, when COVID-19 hit and the labor crisis overwhelmed hospitality, sales of ShopPoP: Self Service Kiosk saw a dramatic increase of 235%, with 68% of hoteliers adding the guest-facing POS option to their grab-and-go markets. The ability to purchase in-store at a self-service kiosk rather than wait in line at the front desk is a clear preference, as 92% of retail transactions have moved to the kiosk when the option was made available, according to 2021 transactions. “The owners and management companies who invest there win on multiple levels: increased revenue, reduced burden on tired front desk teams, and a better guest experience. Kudos to Sandpiper Hospitality for making it a priority,” asserts Williams. Impulsify Brings Touchless Kiosk Experience to Self-Service Grab-and-Go Markets

Impulsify announces the arrival of their completely contactless grab-and-go kiosk for lobby retail transactions. Their ShopPoP kiosk now provides a QR code to give users the option of going “Touchless” when purchasing items at their increasingly popular self-service pay stations used by the hospitality and multifamily industries. ShopPoP is a standalone countertop pay station that allows users to scan and pay for food and beverage items without assistance from a front desk associate or cashier. It grew in popularity throughout Covid when lobby markets became the sole source of food and beverage for many hotels. Deployments further skyrocketed as the labor crisis began. Janine Williams, CEO of Impulsify says. “Hotel front desk teams are at a breaking point trying to play cashier and desk associate simultaneously.” With the removal of breakfast and the demand for more packaged food, came the dramatic increase in retail transaction volume that placed an even greater burden on teams already stretched thin. ShopPoP offered immediate relief, but cross-contamination concerns of touching a screen used by others in a public space grew as Covid cases grew. Impulsify’s development team, in partnership with Kioware (kioware.com), added a scannable QR code to the touchscreen kiosk that converts the guest’s phone screen into a track pad eliminating the need to physically touch the kiosk to scroll and tap. There is no app download necessary, so the solution is immediately available to those who prefer it. Ingenico’s PCI-certified unattended credit card terminal ShopPoP relies on for credit card payments already allowed for a contactless experience in the credit card portion of the transaction when NFC (tap) payment options are enabled. “Self-service is expected in nearly every aspect of our lives at this point. But it really became the definition of essential in this chapter.  We want to ensure that the brands who use our technology are able to offer the safest possible F&B retail experience to their guests. We want to be above and beyond for both our customers and theirs,” states Williams. When asked what the upgraded feature functionality would cost their users, Williams replied, “Zero dollars. It’s the right thing to do; it’s the responsible thing to do.” The new feature will be launched at HFTP’s HITEC 2021 in Dallas, TX Sept 27-30. HITEC is the world's largest hospitality technology show, “bringing the brightest minds and hottest technologies to one place.” Impulsify originally launched their ShopPoP solution at HITEC 2017. The executive team will attend to share the timely new functionality with the hospitality industry after a long period of no in-person events.

Impulsify Announces ImpulseBuy Auto-Procurement Program for Grab-and-Go Markets

Impulsify Inc, (Denver, CO) announced the official launch of ImpulseBuy – an auto-replenishment program powered by their cloud-based Retail Management System, ImpulsePoint. The woman-owned retail software company specializes in simplifying retail operations to enable non-retail businesses to offer grab-and-go retail in their common areas.  ImpulsePoint, their most popular software product, provides cloud-based POS, inventory management, and retail performance reporting to over 1,000 commercial businesses including hotels, campgrounds, and multifamily communities who desire an onsite retail store as an amenity or enhanced experience for guests and residents, but are not focused on retail as a core business.  ImpulseBuy will utilize the inventory tracking component in ImpulsePoint to automatically replenish stock levels based on real-time inventory. The system will auto-receive inventory based on quantities ordered to reduce overhead burdens for the stores who are often self-service driven and have a single property manager with many responsibilities. “This solution is painfully overdue for our industry,” states Janine Williams, CEO of Impulsify. “We have food distributors that don’t have technology to track stock levels at these small format micro-markets, and software companies that don’t have retail product to ship them. Our clients end up with a really cool amenity their customers want - but it sits empty because they are too busy running their core business to stay on top of retail inventory. That’s a problem to solve!” Impulsify is partnering with multiple national food, beverage, sundry and gift distribution companies to deliver product to their customers based off the data contained in ImpulsePoint. With auto-procurement, Impulsify anticipates the increased order frequency and higher in-stock rates on best sellers will bring significantly higher revenue results to the operator with less effort. The program will be offered on a SaaS basis as an optional upgrade to the monthly ImpulsePoint subscription.  “We specialize in helping non-retail businesses succeed at retail and have made great strides in bringing them the design, technology and reporting they need to keep it simple – but our clients continue to struggle with inventory. Their stores suffer as a result. The ImpulseBuy program completes the turn-key offering our clients need to be successful.
