What does this product or service do well?

Answer:

Tapendium chose to partner with Optii as it is the premier solution for hoteliers to manage their service requests. Not only does it provide a simple interface for teams and staff, but the reporting and management interfaces provide the details needed by management and decision makers. The escalation and alerting system also gives us confidence that requests will be actioned and no guests will be left waiting. From an integration perspective, Optii was able to provide us with comprehensive API documentation and knowledgeable support. Marrying this with their constant desire to improve meant that the minor enhancements we requested were actioned rapidly and in a way that we could easily add them to our integration.

Question:

What differentiates this product or service from the competition?

Answer:

Optii has focussed on user experience in the development of their solution, this has not only made their suite intuitive and easy to learn, but also allows users to rapidly master the system. This allows both all staff, from floor-workers to senior managers to focus on their role and not waste time learning a cumbersome system. The SaaS model used by Optii means that users get constant, iterative updates. This reduces the need to re-learn processes and systems and allows for additions and improvements to be easily rolled out to all customers. The level of configuration available to each hotel means that Optii can match the user's workflows rather than many other solutions that require the users to adapt to a fixed workflow. It's obvious that the use of machine learning, inline translations and a sophisticated (yet easy) rules engine has been developed for just this purpose. Optii's differentiation from the rest of the market isn't just in their product, it's also in their customer service and partner interactions. During our integration development Optii staff responded rapidly and took the time to provide comprehensive, accurate answers. I have confidence that this is part of the organisational culture as our mutual customers had always spoken highly of the Optii team.

Based on your experience with this product or service, if you could give one piece of advice to a hotelier considering this product or service, what would it be?

Answer:

I would highly recommend signing up and getting the system in place. Beyond that, my advice on how to achieve this would vary based on hotel size and if it is a new or existing hotel. For a new hotel I would recommend consulting with Optii and guest facing staff to create the most common tasks and empower trusted staff to create new tasks as required. For an existing, small hotel I would recommend getting Optii set-up based on staff input and fine-tune the system as it is used. For a larger hotel, or a group of hotels I would say "don't be afraid to think outside the box". I can see opportunities beyond internal staff use and extending toward some external contractors using the system for job allocation within the hotel. If a hotel isn't using dedicated hotel operations management software then they're setting themselves up for a poor guest experience.
