What do you dislike or think could be improved?
The guest communication is very slow and limited. Airbnb messages often take several minutes to upload to Akia and they also don't integrate with booking.com or expedia guest messaging. Setting up WhatsApp is very complicated, and I've had to ask the company multiple times for help. The texting is very limited with a low character count, and there's no option to send two messages at a time. The smart review feature is limited, not allowing us to submit all the links for our reviews. We can't upload addresses to our customer profile, and there's no way to create our own variables and messages in mini apps. The links look sketchy, like they're coming from some sort of scam. Tasks and emails do not integrate with our property management system or main hotel email, making them look shady. The website chatbot is dull and doesn't let guests know they can talk to a live front desk worker. IDs can't be uploaded without extra costs. Many features require paying more for access, and touchpoints are very limited in customization. Ending our relationship with Akia was problematic; we were forced to stay in for an entire YEAR, and there were issues with contract end date communications that felt misleading. Overall, the experience with Akia hasn't been great, with many limitations and complications making it difficult to manage guest communications effectively. This product stands out as the best we've ever used in its category. It's incredibly versatile and programmable, allowing us to do much more than just communicate. We've used it for upselling, online check-in, tipping, guest communication, sharing brochures, collecting payments, and more.
What do you dislike or think could be improved?
It's possible that AI is already integrated into the product or that there's an AI-powered feature we haven't activated or purchased yet. It might even be capable of handling some tasks typically done in person, but I'm not entirely sure.

We are a 5 suite guesthouse which means each guest has unique check-in requirements so each message is automated and tailor made for their needs. Akia manages all this for us without our input which has his freed so much time for other more important tasks such as addressing guest issues, marketing, and administration needs. Having standardized messages for common questions is a huge time saver. The other benefit is we are now offering product sales with them. Their customer service is very good. which is extremely important these days and everyone I've dealt with so far has been top notch.
What do you dislike or think could be improved?
There is definitely a user-friendliness challenge with the online interface. Akia has a ton of great features but it can be difficult finding them and working with them. It's a bit of a jigsaw puzzle. Semi-annual "refreshers" might be a good idea to expose users to the various features available.

We got Akia for messaging, which it is great at, but have come to really love the mini apps. Combined this has allowed us to manage guests expectations better, upsell more, and simplify our checkin process by eliminating 90%+ of of the paper form we used to use. It's also made tipping staff easier, and puts a few hundred dollars a month in each employees pocket.
What do you dislike or think could be improved?
I would like to be able to use SMS with international numbers (It's WhatsApp only for numbers outside US/Canada).

What do you dislike or think could be improved?
Akia's AI sometimes leaves a little to be desired. About half of the time, it is helpful for sending uncomplicated messages (for example: "you're welcome" in response to "thank you." However other times, the response makes little sense and we have to send a follow up message to the guest apologizing. I wish there was an easy way to report auto responses from AI that don't make sense so that it could learn as it goes

Akia is all around wonderful. We switched from a similar software and couldnt be happier. We love everything about. Its intuitive and the guests love it. The Guidebooks are particularly helpful and beautiful. Support is top notch!

Sometimes the system gets confused when there are multiple reservations under the same guest name, but for different rooms. However, support is always there to help.

The auto responses. Sometimes it auto responses the wrong response so it doesn’t make sense to the guest so I’ve had to let guest know if the auto response doesn’t make any sense to please message something again to have the system ping me.

The default language is always the one of the phone number which is great. That way guests can communicate with the hotelier no matter where they are from and what language they are speaking.
