One of the main reasons we chose this PMS was because we were promised we would be able to integrate Stripe payments. Soon into our contract, they finally told us it would be impossible to connect (Stripe connectivity restrictions between the Netherlands, where their bank is located, and Mexico, where the hotel is located), but they assured us they would find a solution soon. Months passed and they never gave us a solution- one of their senior leades- was kind enough to advice us to open a bank account in the United States (of course that wasn´t feasible). ... Honesty and communication are the main improvements. Had they simply said that 2 of the functions essential to our decision making process weren't possible, we'd have had a great impression. Software isn't for everyone, but having read other reviews, it seems the company is happy to mis-sell and only admit to the products failings just before going live, hoping that you'll have invested so much time into it, that you'll just accept it. Basic functions such as being able to pre-authorise cards during check-in, or using their own terminal, aren't possible. This is even more galling when you realise that they've only promised you this, so they can send you their own terminal, that has some of the highest processing fees I've ever seen. To highlight how clearly this was mis-sold, without the pre-auth function, I'd have to actively be choosing to pay nearly 4x the processing fees of my existing card provider, just so the amount on the card machine is pre-filled from RoomRaccoon. I doubt anyone in business could justify this. The housekeeping app is little more than a single timer. There's no native app, just a web page, no real user-level access control, and is frankly extremely expensive for what it can do, compared to other products on the market. I could even excuse all of this though, and was prepared to just move on having learned my lesson, had the company simply refunded me the very high implementation fee, and cancelled our contract. Short of this, they won't even reply to emails now, and rather than parting ways amicably, we're now having to incur even more costs as a small independent hotel, instructing solicitors and pursuing legal ...

One of the main reasons we chose this PMS was because we were promised we would be able to integrate Stripe payments. Soon into our contract, they finally told us it would be impossible to connect (Stripe connectivity restrictions between the Netherlands, where their bank is located, and Mexico, where the hotel is located), but they assured us they would find a solution soon. Months passed and they never gave us a solution- one of their senior leades- was kind enough to advice us to open a bank account in the United States (of course that wasn´t feasible). On top of that, they also assured us that they had the structure to provide good customer support in latinamerica. Their support was non existent and often we would have tickets go unanswered for months or they would simply close tickets without giving us any solutions. Finally, I had numerous meetings with one of their sales directors where he would make countless promises that, of course, they never fulfilled. As you may know, migrating to a new PMS is expensive both in time and money. I can say that the hotel I represent completely lost ...

This is even more galling when you realise that they've only promised you this, so they can send you their own terminal, that has some of the highest processing fees I've ever seen. To highlight how clearly this was mis-sold, without the pre-auth function, I'd have to actively be choosing to pay nearly 4x the processing fees of my existing card provider, just so the amount on the card machine is pre-filled from RoomRaccoon. I doubt anyone in business could justify this. The housekeeping app is little more than a single timer. There's no native app, just a web page, no real user-level access control, and is frankly extremely expensive for what it can do, compared to other products on the market. I could even excuse all of this though, and was prepared to just move on having learned my lesson, had the company simply refunded me the very high implementation ...

... Honesty and communication are the main improvements. Had they simply said that 2 of the functions essential to our decision making process weren't possible, we'd have had a great impression. Software isn't for everyone, but having read other reviews, it seems the company is happy to mis-sell and only admit to the products failings just before going live, hoping that you'll have invested so much time into it, that you'll just accept it. Basic functions such as being able to pre-authorise cards during check-in, or using their own terminal, aren't possible. This is even more galling when you realise that they've only promised you this, so they can send you their own terminal, that has some of the highest processing fees I've ever seen. To highlight how clearly this was mis-sold, without the pre-auth function, I'd have to actively be choosing to pay nearly 4x the processing fees of my existing card provider, just so the amount on the card machine is pre-filled from RoomRaccoon. I doubt anyone in business could justify this. The housekeeping app is little more than a single timer. There's no native app, just a web page, no real user ...
